Performance focus: sport climbing (on-sighting and flashing)
Additional activities: beach going, sight seeing, and surfing
Minimum ability: 5.11a onsight/5.11d redpoint ability on rock

The Cantabrian Mountain Range in north central Spain is home to thousands of world class sport climbs. Desfiladero de la Hermida (The Gorge of la Hermida), features hundreds of routes in the 7-8 grade (5.12-14) in predictably cool summer shade conditions. This is one of Europe’s best summer sport crags, as well as one of Spain’s best climbing secrets. Moving west through the Picos de Europa and towards Oviedo, the mountains contain 1000s of sport climbs of all difficulties and varieties.
